BIKE GROUP RIDES:

A small group will be riding this Sunday (3 May) 7:30a.m. from Wildcat Lake Park  (there might be a couple leaving at 8:00).  Jim will be leading for a ride about 30 miles, the course will be marked, so watch the road if you lag behind. 

 

Saturday  10:00 am             Poulsbo – Stella’s Ride        Park at the church (corner of 305 and Forest Rock Lane). Stella’s restrooms will be open before the ride for your use and please stop in after for food, drink and of course conversation.  WEEKDAYS  (occasionally)     11:30am   Bangor Main Gate          Occasionally there is a 17 mile ride out the base main gate to Brownsville Marina and back.  Track down Jim or Shawn for more info.

    

BIKE TIME TRIAL:                Big Valley Road           1st Sunday of each month.                               
Dan Austad and West Sound Cycling Club are putting on a 7 mile time trial the first Sunday of each month at 3 pm on Big Valley Rd. in Poulsbo.    Parking will be at Kitsap Memorial Park. (there are rest rooms there also) and ride up big Valley about 1 1/2 mile to the start line.  The course goes out and back to the start on Big Valley Rd.   The road is not closed so riders must ride on the shoulder, be careful when passing and when making the “u’ turn to come back. This event is for all kinds of riders on any kind of bike. This is about seeing how you can do against the clock. It is also a chance to get a baseline for your ability level to compare with the ones in future months. Or if you like, challenge your buddies for the best time. Riders will be riding solo and started at intervals so you will not be riding in a pack. You can’t draft in time trials! IF YOU WANT TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP PLEASE SHOW UP AT 2:30pm.
